Variations on a garden.

Came across this article on a solution for growing your own food with limited space the other day and thought it was a neat idea.  

Of course, wall planters like these are out of the question for me since I rent.  But I have a little patch of land (read: dirt) between my back door and my next door neighbor/friend's back door and we've been talking about growing some vegetables there (mostly tomatoes) this summer.  She said she wanted "a tomato plant" which I took to mean, oh, one of maybe 6 or 7 different types of tomatoes.  Yellow, heirloom and cherry tomatoes are a must.  Maybe I'll plant something else too...  I think a trip to the Depot is in order.
